Read it: Why Men Love Bitches

Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Aragov

If I were to sum up what I think about this book, I would definitely say that I love it. First, the title is catchy. When you go through shelves upon shelves of books thinking which title seems interesting, it hits you because by reading the “bitches” in bright red font immediately catches your attention. And then you read the whole title, “Why Men Love Bitches”. Now, who wouldn’t think what that book was about? It definitely made me curious.

Looking at the cover, one would think that this is another self-help book in building long-lasting relationships. But I guess I was wrong. Yes, it is a self-help book but is specifically tailored for women. Its about what a woman should and should not do when interacting with men. Its not the ordinary be the woman every man wants or being submissive. Its more about being a bitch but in a good way.

Being a bitch as described in the book doesn’t necessarily mean being a whore. But being a bitch in terms of standing up for yourself, knowing what you want and don’t want and being a strong person as a whole.

Honestly, the guides were really like an eye-opener. I don’t think this is only about how to be the dream girl every man wants nor about holding your own in a relationship. It’s more of building yourself up as a person, as a woman. The tips and pieces of advice doesn’t only apply in relationships, I also find it applicable to your life in general as well. Definitely a good read.

Some of the pointers in the book that I would like to share are the following:

  • #6 It is your attitude about yourself that a man will adopt.
  • # 8 The biggest variable between a bitch and woman who is too nice is fear. The bitch shows that she’s not afraid to be without him.
  • #22 Sex and the “spark” are not one and the same.
  • #28 If he makes you feel insecure, let your insecurity be your guide.
  • #30 Anytime a woman competes with another woman, she demeans herself.
  • #45 A woman looks more secure in a man’s eyes when he can’t pull her away from her life because she is content with her life.
  • #72 Most men tend to disrespect a woman who appears to be too malleable.
  • #73 Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself or speak your mind. It will not only earn his respect, in some cases it will even turn him on.
  • #80 The ability to choose how you want to live and the ability to choose how you want to be treated are the two things that give you more power than any material object ever will.
  • #83 regardless of how pretty a woman is, looks alone will not sustain his respect. Appearance may pull him in but it is your independence that will keep him turned on.
  • #93 Once you start laughing, you start healing.
  • #94 You can get away with saying much more with humor than you can with a straight face.
  • #98 Be an independent thinker at all times and ignore anyone who attempts to define you in a limiting way.
  • #100 The most attractive quality of all is dignity.
