Read It: Sailor Moon

The Ten Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask (70k)

Sailor Moon by Naoko Takeuchi

I was thinking of a good manga to read these past few days and Sailor Moon just popped into my mind. I remember very well watching Sailor Moon on television back in the 90s and going gaga over their merchandise. Thinking about Sailor Moon makes me reminisce back into my childhood, those days when we play with  the Sailor Scout dolls and role play into being Sailor Scouts (my favorite back then was Sailor Mars) and defeating Queen Metalia. I then realized that I haven’t really watched the whole series and had the urge to read everything all the way through the end and thanks to the power of the internet, I found a hosting site where I was able to read the complete volume of its manga (thank God for free sites).

Sailor Moon is a manga series written by Naoko Takeuchi. It has a total of 18 volumes published from 1991-1997. It is one of the popular manga series at that time and was made into an anime series.

The story is about Usagi Tsukino (aka Sailor Moon aka Princess Serenity aka Neo Queen Serenity) a clumsy girl who discovers a talking cat, Luna, who tells her that she is a chosen Sailor Scout who must defend earth against evil forces who want to invade the planet. Together with the other Sailor Scouts, they go on missions to save the planet and the future while living as ordinary school girls.

There are a lot of twists in the story and a lot of characters are introduced in each volume but I especially enjoyed their adventures on life, love and self discovery.
