You read because you love to read and you don’t think there is anything wrong with it.
You read because it takes away the stress and pressure you faced during the day. It’s a breath of fresh air. A routine escape from your daily dose of drama.
You never thought that people may lash out at you because of your hobby. A hobby that does not even involve interacting with another person. A hobby that requires you to sit quietly and ignore the world.
Have you ever been called delusional as a result of reading too much? That you’re making yourself the center of a story? That you need to stop reading because you’re living in a made-up plot?
Only a hypocrite will answer that those does not hurt. It does, very much, but you can always brush their criticisms aside and see the lighter things about their comments.
You are delusional because you picture yourself in a perfect world surrounded by people who you believe care about you the same way you care about them. And this world gets shattered everytime because people hurt you intentionally and unintentionally. But do not call yourself delusional, because you are a visionary. A dreamer who believes that they live in a world where everything is possible.
You are the center of your own story. Your life is your ongoing tale. You are the writer and the protagonist. Your everyday experiences is the plot and everything else is just a blur. You choose your supporting characters to make this story more worthwhile. You pick antagonists along the way but they say a story is not complete without them anyway. You can brush them aside, defeat them or make them your ally in the end. It’s your choice so choose wisely.
Do not let someone ruin the greatest story you’re going to read and write. The story of your life is the most valuable experience you will ever have. When you look back, read back, it should make you smile and say that the journey was perfectly written, it couldn’t have ended better.
